About the Role
DS Refrigeration is looking for a motivated 2nd or 3rd Year Apprentice to join our team and gain valuable, hands-on experience in the Refrigeration & Air Conditioning industry.
Working alongside our experienced engineers, you will assist with the installation, servicing, and maintenance of a wide range of commercial refrigeration and air conditioning systems.
This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills, gain real-world experience, and work towards becoming a fully qualified engineer in
a fast-growing industry.
Important: Applicants must be currently enrolled in a recognised Refrigeration & Air Conditioning apprenticeship programme at college.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the installation, servicing, and maintenance of commercial refrigeration and air conditioning systems
- Work alongside experienced engineers to develop practical, technical skills
- Diagnose faults and carry out repairs under supervision
- Safely use tools and equipment following company an industry standards
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment
- Follow all health and safety procedures and company policies
Skills & Experience Required
- Currently enrolled in a Refrigeration & Air Conditioning apprenticeship (2nd or 3rd Year)
- A technical mindset with good attention to detail
- Strong problem-solving skills and initiative
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems (preferred but not essential)

- Strong interest in the Refrigeration & Air Conditioning industry
- Motivated, reliable, and eager to learn
- Willingness to work hard and support qualified engineers
- Proactive and organised with a positive attitude
- Seeking an employer to complete your on-the-job apprenticeship training
Qualifications Gained Upon Completion*
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning (or equivalent qualification)
- F-Gas Category 1 Certification (legally required for handling refrigerants)
- Health & Safety Certification
- Practical experience in installation, maintenance, servicing, and fault diagnosis
- Full industry-recognised qualifications to work as a fully qualified engineer

provides the on-the-job training and support.)
